About EvenParts

Why this site exists, who runs it, and how the guides are made.

What EvenParts does

EvenParts (evenparts.com) explains pool equipment: pumps, salt chlorine generators, heaters, controllers and robotic cleaners. Each guide answers one question an owner has when something stops working or needs replacing: what does the rule say, what size do I need, what should I check first, and when is it time to call a pro.

The name is a play on "odd parts." Pool equipment is full of oddball parts and model-specific fits; the goal is to even out the guesswork.

Who's behind it

EvenParts is run by Steve, who makes the Fix It Yourself! YouTube channel. His approach is the same here: diagnose, test, then replace, starting with the cheap and simple causes before buying anything expensive.

How the guides are made

  • Sources first. Specs, dates, limits and safety warnings come from manufacturer manuals, manufacturer pages and official government sources. Each fact block links its source, and each guide lists the date we recorded it.
  • Labeled when it isn't a manufacturer rule. If a statement comes from a retailer or the trade press instead, we label it that way.
  • Manufacturer claims stay claims. When a maker says "up to" some figure, we attribute it to them; we don't adopt it as our own finding.
  • Tested vs. stated. Our pool guides are currently based on manufacturer and official documents, not on our own testing. When a guide includes something Steve tested himself, we'll label it separately from what the manufacturer says.
  • No prices, ratings or testimonials. Prices change and ratings belong to the retailer. We don't publish either.

What EvenParts doesn't do

  • We don't sell anything. There's no store, no cart, no inventory and no order support. Purchases happen on the retailer's own site, under its terms.
  • We don't give instructions for work the manufacturer says a qualified professional must do: gas, line-voltage wiring, bonding, or anything that defeats a safety device. See When to Call a Pro.
  • We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any equipment manufacturer.

How the site is paid for

Some links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them. Right now those are Amazon links: search links and a few product-page links in small "Worth a look" boxes. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
